Two winters ago, I pruned the hydrangeas, which for this species is a no-no. We got no flowers that summer as a result. Last winter we had a freeze in March that killed all the buds, so we are hoping and praying for the hydrangea blooms to reappear this year.

We transplanted all the daylilies near the hydrangeas to make room for the vegetable garden and they love it here.

When we moved in there were vines creeping across the arbor by the pool. They made a terrible mess on the lounge chairs and hid the arbor, so we ripped them out and much prefer this look. If they are blooming, there are some pretty coral daylilies by the roses on the fence.
